The Fiction Ebook Zone Overview

The Fiction Ebook Zone isn't just about uploading and downloading ebooks, but is a community, with suggestions, reviews, comments, and personalities. For many of us it's a place to hang out with friends and discuss ebooks, get tips for everything to do with conversion, ereaders, and the associated programs, and to share the ebooks we love, or have found in our travels.

It was created because of the closure of another off-site thread, and the thought of loosing the community we had there was too sad, so I started this thread and brought the people I could trust across to join us here. It's full of generous, friendly and intellegent souls who make it a great place to be.

The Fiction Ebook Zone Index
The main thread is a great read, for those who want to take the time, but even our members need a reference seeing as the only thing on Warez-bb that isnt that wonderful is the search function. Something for which we will gladly overlook.

We've created a separate thread to act as an index of this one. It has a few ways to view what has been shared here, and if you want to quickly check for an author or a book in particular, then follow the link below and use the options available.

The Fiction Ebook Zone Request List Thread aka The FEZ Master Wishlist
We all have ebooks that we desperatly want. Some are future releases, some are older books that have yet to be converted to ebook, and a few are just elusive and haven't turned up in our sharing communities yet. The Request list Thread is there so we can post our own lists, and see other people's lists as well. If your after an ebook in particular then have a look in our index to see if it's already been posted, and if not feel free to request it on the main thread here. It it still hasn't turned up after a while, then add a post to the Request List Thread and we'll keep an eye out for what your looking for.

I know that our regulars join me in welcoming you to the thread, and we hope that you have a great here....

The first book in the Broken Heart Series
When Jessica Matthews, a suburban divorcée and mother of two, gets savagely attacked one night by a werewolf, she awakens to find herself sucking blood from the thigh of 4,000-year-old vampire Patrick O'Halloran. He explains that the only way to have kept her from dying was to turn her into a vampire like himself. Now Jessica finds herself recruited to hunt the rampaging Lycan, who may be Patrick's brother, alongside Patrick and the mysterious paranormal organization called the Consortium. Bardsley has done considerable research into Celtic legends in order to create her vampire society, but her research doesn't make for a successful book. Rather than giving us, as the title would suggest, a satirical look at a soccer mom turned "sucker mom" attempting to balance normal daily life with a most abnormal nightlife, Bardsley focuses on Jessica's explicit sexual longing for Patrick and the mundane conflict between the Consortium and their evil counterparts, the Wraith. Though amusing at times, the meat of this vampire tale is oddly bloodless

Tithe
(A book in the Modern Tale of Faerie series)
(2002)

Welcome to

the realm of

very scary

faeries!

Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother's rock band until an ominous attack forces the sixteen-year-old back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms -- a struggle that could very well mean her death.

Newcomer Holly Black's enormously powerful voice weaves teen angst, riveting romance, and capriciously diabolical faerie folk into an enthralling, engaging, altogether original reading experience.

Valiant
(A book in the Modern Tale of Faerie series)
(2005)

When seventeen-year-old Valerie Russell runs away to New York City, she's trying to escape a life that has utterly betrayed her. Sporting a new identity, she takes up with a gang of squatters who live in the city's labyrinthine subway system.

But there's something eerily beguiling about Val's new friends. Impulsive Lolli talks of monsters in the subway tunnels they call home and shoots up a shimmery amber-colored powder that makes the shadows around her dance. Severe Luis claims he can make deals with creatures that no one else can see. And then there's Luis's brother, timid and sensitive Dave, who makes the mistake of letting Val tag along as he makes a delivery to a woman who turns out to have goat hooves instead of feet.

When a bewildered Val allows Lolli to talk her into tracking down the hidden lair of the creature for whom Luis and Dave have been dealing, Val finds herself bound into service by a troll named Ravus. He is as hideous as he is honorable. And as Val grows to know him, she finds herself torn between her affection for an honorable monster and her fear of what her new friends are becoming.

Bestselling author Holly Black follows her breakout debut, Tithe, with a rich, harrowing, and compulsively readable parable of betrayal, abuse, friendship, and love.

Ironside
(A book in the Modern Tale of Faerie series)
(2007)

In the realm of Faerie, the time has come for Roiben's coronation. Uneasy in the midst of the malevolent Unseelie Court, pixie Kaye is sure of only one thing -- her love for Roiben. But when Kaye, drunk on faerie wine, declares herself to Roiben, he sends her on a seemingly impossible quest. Now Kaye can't see or speak to Roiben unless she can find the one thing she knows doesn't exist: a faerie who can tell a lie.

Miserable and convinced she belongs nowhere, Kaye decides to tell her mother the truth -- that she is a changeling left in place of the human daughter stolen long ago. Her mother's shock and horror sends Kaye back to the world of Faerie to find her human counterpart and return her to Ironside. But once back in the faerie courts, Kaye finds herself a pawn in the games of Silarial, queen of the Seelie Court. Silarial wants Roiben's throne, and she will use Kaye, and any means necessary, to get it. In this game of wits and weapons, can a pixie outplay a queen?

Holly Black spins a seductive tale at once achingly real and chillingly enchanted, set in a dangerous world where pleasure mingles with pain and nothing is exactly as it appears.
